I am using the bull elk as a symbol of a masculinity
fighting with another almost identical symbol. In this surreal world that
these two creatures inhabit their horns have grown together into a fractal
crystalline structure. Out of conflict beauty can be created. But in a grander
sense only by the engagement of these two creatures can this beautiful crystal
structure be created. This could be seen as the current, well seemingly eternal
conflict of east and west. The things that we prize in our society are never
created solely by one culture but built upon by societies from both sides
of this cultural division. I am not putting a moral judgment to this but
rather pointing out of how interconnected we politically, economically, culturally,
and
socially.
